Hootenanny Happening

Youth For Christ got its year's activities under way recently with a Hootenanny Happening which was held out at the Showgrounds. A great time was had by everyone at the barbecue held outside, and during the evening programme held in the shearing rostrum.

A tug-o-war produced some determined expressions, and a lot of laughs for those looking on.

The hay stacking contest included building a stack six bales high, a member of the team getting up to the top and down again without knocking it over, and then demolishing it. Rusty Arnold gets to the top O.K!

Kath Parkin, Diane Eastwood and June Poi make short work of the stack.

The "Bag-Ya-Hed" contest drew great applause and plenty more laughs. Each team had to design a bag which was then worn by the team "model."
