But Do You?

Everybody has to care if we are to keep our land a clean and pleasant place to live in! The whole problem is that too many people don't care about their actions upon the environment. It is N.Z.B.C. Radio's biggest promotion ever (for the whole year), and it is trying to get us all to play our parts in doing the right thing by our own country. If you have anything to add to the promotion, or have any questions on ecology problems, ring Radio Gisborne 2ZG. Each month the radio station will promote a different facet of Environmental Protection.

Of course, it is a hard row to hoe when on the one hand you have sloppy minded individuals who chuck their litter just anywhere, and on the other a whole city such as Wanganui which is going to pour even more excreta into it's so-called beautiful river. Hasn't anyone any pride in this country at all?

The year's promotion started off at Ulver-stone with representatives of concerned organisations being addressed by Mayor Harry Barker (left), who declared the promotion under way. He is pictured with Radio Gisborne manager Ian Vernazoni, who also spoke at the gathering.
