The Long Journey

Members of the Waihirere and Mangatu Maori Clubs journeyed north to take part in the New Zealand Day celebrations, which were held at Waitangi with the Royal family in attendance. The two clubs had a full dress rehearsal at Mangatu before leaving for Waitangi. This Photo shows some of the women of the group simulating the long tiring legendary voyage from Hawaiiki to Aotearoa.
