Fish at $22.32 oz
That's what two snapper worked out at when the first Turanga Lions surf fishing contest was held on January 5. Several stretches of beach were used and plenty of fishing time allowed for the competition, but that only proved one thing -you don't have to catch a big one to win!
Weighing lib 12oz each, these two snapper shared first equal prize-money for Bob Dyas and Brian Hall (centre left and centre right), giving them $625 each. At left is Turanga Lions president Rondon Ferrick and, at right, project convener Peter Hartley.
