Lissome Lasses

Fourteen comely lasses entered this year's Miss 2ZG Beach Girl Contest which attracted a crowd of about 4000 to the Waikanae Sound Shell. Our cover girl was the winner, and she, as already stated, was Selma Hawkins of Taneatua.

Selma is a typist/clerk and lists dressmaking, swimming and travel as her hobbies. She is off to Australia on a working holiday shortly.

Second in the contest was Bronwen Brown-Bayliss', 17", a Gisborne girl who is a bank clerk. She lists her interests as meeting people, swimming, music and sewing.

Linda MacReady of Wellington took third place in the event. She is 16, a student, and has drama, netball and tennis as her interests.

The fourteenth entrant was Jenny Want, 17, a clerk, whose interests are netball, softball, tennis and swimming.
