Water Safety

A very interesting and informative Water Safety Day was sponsored by Radio Gisborne at the McRae Baths on November 3. Ait organisations whose involvement is with water took part and demonstrated water safety as it concerned them.

Members of the Underwater Club drew much interest from the crwod drew much interest from the crowd as they displayed the workings Of their gear. Murray Seymour (left) and Terry Mepham were the two members taking part.

Donna Woolliams won the Radio competition for the best water safety slogan. It read "Water is lovely, refreshing and cool. Don't take risks and prove you're a fool." Donna, who is a member of Save The Children, donated her $10 prize to the Save The Children section of the Ethiopian Famine appeal fund. She is pictured with Radio Gisborne personalities David England (left) and John McLean (right), and Gisborne Water Safety Committee chairman Ken Morse, Who presented the prize.
