Members of the Gisborne Riding School For The Disabled spent a very pleasant morning recently on the Monckton property at Patutahi, where they were able to observe at close quarters a number of mares with foals at foot. The antics of the foals evinced much interest but feeding time was where the visitors found much delight.

A pleasant outing was also had by the young people from the Crippled Children Society when they were taken for a trip on the Gisborne Harbour Board launch Hikurangi. This was a project organised by Gisborne Rotary West. After a very enjoyable time on the water the children were taken back to Anzac Park and served a delicious afternoon tea.
