At the annual general meeting of the Girl Guide Association, Thanks Badges and Good Service Awards were presented to long serving members of the movement.

The Good Service badges were presented by the provincial commissioner, Miss R. Bunt (centre) and the recipients are, from left, Mrs Elva Jolly (Guide trainer), Mrs Jean Ivess (commissioner for Gisborne North), Mrs Willy Bos (divisional commissioner) and Mrs Leonora Chatterton (Brownie leader).

The Thanks Badges were presented to these long standing members of the hall committee who have each given over 17 years' service. With Miss Bunt they are, from left, Mesdames E. Gribble, N. L. Falkner and F. Balfour. Absent: Mrs Hardy.

The Mangapapa district Scouts, Guides, Cubs and Brownies held a church parade at St Andrew's on October 14, to mark the end of Duty To God Week. The collection came to $29 and this was given to Save The Children. Delegated to hand over the cheque to Mrs M. D. Chrisp (Save The Children president) were Ian Nelson, Grundy Street, and Delise Houston, Aberdeen Road.
