Sixtieth Concert

The Gisborne Savage Club celebrated its Golden Jubilee year with a special Ladies' Night concert in the War Memorial Hall on September 29. The occasion also marked the retirement of the club's musical director, Mr Wilfrid Kohn, after 32 years in the position.

A presentation of the concert was given to the public on the following Wednesday night, and the proceeds from this performance were presented to the War Memorial Theatre Conversion Fund. This concert was sponsored by the Gisborne Lions Club. From left, Messrs Ian Mclldowie (Lions Club), Mr Geoffrey Muir (Theatre Conversion Fund) and Ed Woodford (Savage Club).

A very humorous sketch entitled "The Florence Affair," or "Up The Creek In A Gondola," and featuring from left, Ian Hulme, David Stannard, Ian White, Ian Mclldowie, Dion Kohn and Hal Andrew, had the audience in stitches.
