Badminton Champs
The Y.M.C.A. Ladies' Morning Badminton Group held their championships, in the Stadium, on September 21. Some close contests were witnessed by those quick enough to follow the flight of the "bird."
The senior championship was won by Hana Williams and Hilda Swan (right) from Lorna Keene and Joy Hughes.
Phoebe Kaveney and Pauline Haftka (right) took the intermediate title from Oranji Muir and Wai Miller.
The junior title went to Val Pearse and Bev Hollands (left) from Kerrie Brown and Bev Lundon.
The senior plate winners were Audrey Bilham and Lorraine Jory (left), from Jan de Lautour and Dorne Scandrett.
Pat Bayly and Mary Staley (left) won the intermediate plate from June Adams and Barbara Clark.
The junior plate victors were Bev Miller and Raewyn Higgins (right) from Betty Aitken and Marie Brown.
