Going To Pottery

Youngsters from the Mangapapa Playeentre· paid a visit to the Museum and Art Gallery one fine morning recently, to get their first taste of culture. They had plenty to talk about when they got home, even if they didn't have too much to say at the gallery.

Surrounded by some stern critics, Nicole Hewartson explains the finer points of pottery, using one of the pots made by her mother, Mrs Marie Hewartson.

Sculptures of wood and stone are meant to be felt as well as seen, and these people are getting the message young — although the young fellow in the background seems to have a doubt or two.
