Mostly Black

Friday, July 13, might have been Black Friday for some but it was a great day for two of the mostly black cats around town. "Bring along your black cat," said the man on Radio Gisborne. "A prize for the biggest and a prize for the smallest!" And before you could say "pussy" there were enough cats to almost sink the proverbial radio station.

The smallest black cat was Donna Harris's "Sooty," who lives at 328 Stout Street.

The biggest cat, weighing in at 23½lbs, was "Tom", held here by Ian Williams, and belonging to Ian's grandparents, Mr and Mrs H. A. Neilson, Ormond Road.
