Golden Wedding
Mr and Mrs Harry Swan, 137 Ormond Road, celebrated their golden wedding on April 19. They were married at Holy Trinity in 1922. Mr Swan has been in the grocery business for many years in his shop on the corner of Ormond Road and Ballance Street. The couple are pictured cutting their anniversary cake with the moral support of their attendants of 50 years ago. They are, from the Swans' left, Miss Susie Nicholls (Dargaville) and Miss Hazel File (Gisborne), the bridesmaids, and Mrs Lilac Bickers (Tauranga), the flower-girl.
