Coming Of Age
Gordon Grantham, pictured with his parents, Mr and Mrs G. Grantham, 4 James Street, at the cutting of the cake at his coming of age party. Gordon, who trained as a Police cadet for 18 months, has been a constable for the last year and a half, in Wellington.
Jenny Livingstone also celebrated her 21st birthday, recently. She is shown with her parents, Mr and Mrs J. Livingston, 15 Townley Street, at the cutting of the cake.
Returning home for his 21st birthday was Clive Koia, son of Mrs M. Koia, Lyell Road. He is shown with his mother (left) and grandmother, Mrs L. R. Rapana, Crawford Road. Clive, after having trained down at Burnham; is now on his way to Singapore for a two-and-a-half-year stint with the army there.
