Jaycee International vice-president Anver Tayub paid a short visit to Gisborne, to meet local Jaycees, in the course of a familiarisation tour of New Zealand. Mr Tayub was recently elected a world vice-president at the world congress, held in Honolulu. He is from Madurai, India, where he is employed in textile marketing. At the luncheon in his honour he is pictured with, from left, Gisborne president Alan Mackintosh, East Coast regional governor George Musson, Mrs Judy Mackintosh, and vice-presidents Bob Brady and Barry Greentree.

For evening wear, the ladies made their own frocks and then had Maori motifs stencilled onto them. The motifs were designed by Mr Huri Cal-laghan. From left are club members Olive Isaacs, Polly Whaitiri and Eliza Taylor.
