These four members of the Gisborne Bowling Club distinguished themselves by winning the P.B.-E.C. junior champion of championship fours, recently. From left, they are Messrs John Bunyan (skip), George Mulligan (3), Ernie Phillips (2) and Owen Poole (lead). This is the second year in succession that John Bunyan and Owen Poole have been in the winning team, as last year the winning team also came from the Gisborne Bowling Club.

This class of 30 girls is attending a full-time 12-week course in secretarial training, under an extra-tutorial scheme being run by the Boys' High School. Miss International, Jane Hansen of Wellington, officially opened the course on March 2. She is pictured in front of the girls with, from left, Mrs K. Baynes (High School board member), and Messrs G.
