Pictures From The Past
Just on seventy years ago, this is how this view of Kaiti looked from above Riverside Road. The two-storied house at right (at the end of Haronga Road) was built by Mr Geoffrey Willoek. It is now occupied by Mr and Mrs H. M. Akers, formerly of Ruatoria. Over the road is the residence now occupied by Mr and Mrs Parke Pittar, and this house was originally built for Travis Morgan, a bank manager. The next two-storied place, now owned by Mr and Mrs D. J. Crosby, was built by Mr Vincent Barker. Next to this house is the residence first occupied by Mr Samuel Ludbrook and his sister Jane, and now owned by Mr and Mrs K. Allen. The house seen over the river, at left, is the old Buscke residence.
