So round is this tomato found by Mr Bill Waru in his garden in Ranfurly Street. It had grown in a complete circle and had a diameter of five and a half inches.
So firm and fully packed is this tomato, held here by Mrs Atkins of Te Karaka. The fruit, which weighs one pound fourteen ounces, was grown at Te Karaka by Mrs W. J. Graham.
On TV, that is. He is, of course, Alf Garnett, or in the flesh, actor Warren Mitchell. He did a three-night comedy season at the Sandown Hotel, but also had time to take part in a Radio Gisborne interview with Bruce Burn (right).
