Winery Opened

Corbans Wines Ltd opened their Gisborne Winery on March 1. The large complex, situated in the Awapuni sub-division, will be used to process grapes grown in the district. The process takes the grapes to the pure juice stage, after which it is transported to Auckland for manufacture into the various types of wine.

Clare & Clare's largest bin carrier, a twin unit, is being especially used to bring in the grape crop. It is seen here off-loading into the hopper, from which the grapes are augered into the crushing and juice extracting sections.
