The first social gathering for the Old Folk's Association for 1972 proved a very enjoyable occasion. Birthday honours from over the recess period were shared by eight happy people. They are, from left, in front, Miss E. Weekly, Miss I. Wheeler, Mr J. Watt, Mrs H. Griffin, and, at back, Mesdames F. Travis, J. Hatten, V. Quirk and K. Hart.

Altogether, 15 records were broken at the St Mary's Primary School swimming sports this year. The record breakers are, from left, in front, Pauline Cudd (1 record), Julie Kennedy (1), Eugene Shivnan (1), and, at back, Raewyn Meade (9), Jillian Penny (2), and Vieki Jones (1).

Members of the Junior Astronomical Society paid a visit to Napier recently. Although travelling by railcar, their minds were on the stars, as the main objective of the Napier visit was to see the planetarium. However, they didn't spend all their time in outer space, as a visit to the Napier speed-way was also on the agenda.
