Bank's Collection
Skating Reps
Believed to be the second largest collection for rare and valuable medals owned by any bank in the world, is this group held by the Gladstone Road branch of the Hawkes Bay and Gisborne Savings Bank. The collection, which includes some 16th and 17th century pieces, was bought from the well-known coin designer, Mr J. Berry. Pictured here is the bank's manager, Mr Graham Bell, with part of the collection.
These five girls represented the Gisborne Roller Skating Club at the National Championships, held in Hamilton recently. The girls are, from left, Robyn Haisman, Susan Braybrook, Judith Crosby, Kerry Ellis and Jane Duske. While not exactly carrying off a host of titles, the girls gained a lot of experience. Judith Crosby also gained fourth place in the junior figures finals, while Jane Duske took sixth place in the juvenile figures finals.
