Top prizewinners for the year were on hand to receive their trophies and cups from the president of the Gisborne Boxing Association, Mr Colin Whelan, recently. From left, they are Peter Kerr (Ron Durston cup for most improved novice), Francis Haronga (Merv Howe cup for gamest loser), Hemi Poutu (M. Hacche cup for best novice), Stephen Durston (T. A. N, Corson cup for most outstanding boxer), Ross 0 Connell (Lyssant Clayton cup for most scientific boxer and D. This party of members of the Wairoa branch of the W.D.F.F. went on the branch's sixth annual tour recently. The tour included visits to Whangarei, to see the far north, and also Matamata, Rainbow Springs, and Ohope Beach, where this picture was taken.
