This painting of Ulverstone, or known in its heyday as "Barker's Castle," is one of six paintings submitted to the local exhibition held recently. It was bought by Mrs Wilkinson of Ulverstone and now hangs in that building.

Mrs Bernice McAra, Douglas Street, Wainui Beach, has recently become an Artist Member of the Gisborne Art Society. After submitting a specified number of paintings of the standard required to the society, a painter then becomes an Artist Member.
