Mr R. Tietjen was this year's national winner of the Olin Award for the most outstanding Ammo-Phos fertilizer maize yield of the season. Mr Tietjen, who farms at Bushmere, cultivated a crop which yielded 223.31 bushels to the acre, the harvesting taking place on June 7 this year.
A function to mark the presentation was held at the Sandown Park Motor Hotel, where Mrs Esme Tombleson, M.P., is seen presenting the award to Mr Tietjen.
