M.B.E. Great Thrill

For her services to the nursing profession at the Cook, Lister and St Helen's hospitals and in private nursing; as supervisor of the Donnelly Training Centre operated by I.H.C., and for 18 years as a member of the Cook Hospital Board, Mrs Dorrie Dennis, JP, of 12 Bulwer Road, was awarded the M.B.E. in the Queen's Birthday Honours List.

Quoted Mrs Dennis "It was a great thrill, but unexpected as I like meeting and working with people. I have only been doing something I really enjoy doing. One of the nicest parts of the whole thing was receiving 350 letters from people who felt this thrill with me."
