Varsity Graduands

Alan Ladd, son of Mr and Mrs R. E. Ladd, 12 Steed Avenue, gained his Bachelor of Science degree from Canterbury University recently. Alan, an ex-Lytton High student, is now carrying on for his M.Sc.

A B.A. degree from Canterbury University has been gained by Geraldine Oliver. Geraldine's parents, Mr and Mrs N. W. Oliver, Hastings, were formerly of Gisborne, while Geraldine is a former dux of the Girls' High School.

The Jessie Kinder Memorial prize for the best graduand in a degree class at Otago University was won this year by Christine Cook, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs R. H. Cook, 456 Palmerston Road. Christine, who has graduated with a Bachelor of Home Science degree, is training this year as a dietician in Christ-church.

Frank Matthewson, youngest son of Mrs C. A. Matthewson, 11 Derby Street, and the late Mr F. Matthewson, has graduated Bachelor of Engineering with second class honours from Canterbury University. Frank is now in Christchurch as assistant engineer with New Zealand Electricity Department.

A Bachelor of Engineering degree with honours was gained by Roy Edwards, son of Mr and Mrs W. Edwards of the Royal Hotel. Roy, who also took his degree from Canterbury University, is now working for Kerslake and Partners, Consulting Engineers, Auckland.
