This 1923-24 season cycling team is of Alan Sutton's Speedkings, They represent about half of the amateur cyclists in the Gisborne cycling world of those days. The other half rode for Harry Ripley's Flying Stars.

These sheep are pictured on the main road between Wairoa and Gisborne in 1924. The road doesn't look like this any more. And sheep no longer walk, thank you, they are transported around the countryside by luxury truck.

The tug Tuatea being saluted by H.M.S. Repulse some years ago. The Tuatea had lowered her ensign and, according to naval tradition, the salute had to be acknowledged, irrespective of the disparity of size. You can get a fair idea of the difference from what is visible in the picture.
