Pictures from the Past
This picture was sent in by Mrs H. Green, 338 Palmerston Road, and shows the construction of Common Shelton & Co's woolstore in Palmerston Road. In the picture are included, from left, Messrs Archie Kirk the well known builder, his son, Colin Kirk, Frank Cox and Bill Green.
This picture of workmen on the Opera House construction site in 1905 was also sent in by Mrs Green In it are Mr W. (Bill) Green (fourth from right, back row), and his son Mr W. C. Green (fourth from right, front row). The man on the extreme right of the front row is believed to be the builder, Mr George Smith.
