More than $1000 was raised by the Boys' High School sponsored walk in aid of the forthcoming Australian football tour. This amount provided a grand boost for the expense fund. Most of the school took part, from third formers to the principal himself. A prize of a three-day trip to watch the First XV play in Auckland for the student gaining the most sponsors, was won by Chris Flood who got $75 in sponsorships.
