Keep it Green

By planting trees, nurturing them, watching them progress and giving them the care and respect they deserve we can keep New Zealand green and a country of beauty. These, virtually, are the aims of Arbor Day and at the Wainui School this day was observed with a family tree planting. Parents of some of the children supplied a young tree each and in the afternoon members of the family planted their trees in the school grounds. Prior to this an Arbor Day ceremony was held with members of the school reading out facts, figures and a poem about trees.
