Golden Wedding

Celebrants of 50 years of marriage recently were Mr and Mrs H. J. Cameron, 114 Ormond Road. The golden wedding celebrations included a family evening of dancing and music. After returning from the First World War, Mr Cameron, originally from Geraldine, came to Gisborne to live and was married in 1920 to the former Miss K. U. Williams. After 36 years with the mail branch of the Post Office, Mr Cameron retired in 1956.

Married

Keeping up what looks like an old tradition are Peter and Valerie Kearas who were married at Ormond recently. The bride was driven to the church by her father in a buggy and after the ceremony the party was taken to the reception by the same conveyance.
