By Any Other Name ...

A rose would smell as sweet ...and look just as beautiful.

The success of the Gisborne and East Coast Rose Society's National Show can be gauged from the fact that they had record entries for this, the 21st National Show. These entries created a mass of colour and scent which charmed all who came to see them.

Typical of the many beautiful roses on display was this bloom of Royal Highness which won for Mrs K. Hilton the Hawkes Bay Perpetual Challenge Trophy and Certificate of Merit.

Mrs R. E. Coulston took top honours in the show with a magnificent bloom of Diamond Jubilee. It won Champion of Champions and the Dalrymple Challenge Cup.

Mrs R. J. Kaywood won the premier decorative trophy with a fine bloom of Josephine Bruce.

Mrs F. Caughey's entry in class 25 for floribundas gained her first equal
