Old Times Recalled

Old times were recalled and experiences of the past lived again when the Cook Hospital Nurses' reunion was held over Labour weekend.

A roll call, dinner and church parade were the main events of the weekend programme.

Distinguished guests at the gathering were, from left, Dr R. J. B. Hall, who was medical superintendent of the hospital for many years, his wife, Dr T. C. Hall, Miss I. Martin, M. B. E. , and Miss R. Bunt, both former matrons of the hospital.

Mrs Sarah Tocker, who registered in 1913, her daughter Mrs Betty Gallagher, 1943, and her grand-daughter, Mrs Margaret Morton, 1963, all trained at Cook.

Mrs Weira Walsh, 1927, with Mrs Gladys Howell who was one of the earlier nurses at Cook.

Mesdames Beverley Vita, Irene Grigor and Margaret Ibbotson were members of the later brigade at the reunion.

Mrs Dorothy Snook, Miss Daphne Landrekin, Mrs Joan Currie, and Mrs Winnifred Houlden graduated in 51

Mesdames Edith Williams, 1916, Laura Johnson, 1922, Mary Gilmore Rogers, 1923, Kate McGregor, 1924, Elizabeth Burton, 1925, and Alice McEwen, 1925, were all there to talk over the old days.
