Citizenship Ceremony

Six candidates were present at the City Council Chambers on the evening of Wednesday, June 5, to take the Oath of Allegiance before His Worship the Mayor, Mr H. H. Barker, and to receive their Certificates of citizenship from him.

After the official ceremony the candidates, families and friends were entertained to supper.

The six new citizens, pictured with the Mayor are, from left, Mrs Ng Mee Yee, Mrs Ng She Yee, Mrs Yun Hao Ng, and Messrs Michael Gerber, Frank Hajnal and Peter Venema.

Mr W. M. Wills, S.M. , Miss T. Czochanska, senior field naturalisation officer of the Department of Internal Affairs, and Mr W. Hudson, Town Clerk, were also present at the ceremony.
