Educational Visit

A party of 19 schoolchildren from the Mangatuna Maori School, north of Tolaga Bay, recently made an educational visit to Gisborne. The object of the visit was to gain direct experience of how other people live and work to supplement their actual reading and classroom work about them.

The children made a tour of the waterfront, went up Kaiti Hill, took a look round the Pomona orchard, went through Watties canneries and visited East Coast Fisheries where these pictures were taken.
