Fourteen-months-old Linda Mitchell, the daughter of Mr and Mrs Bruce Mitchell, 11 Edison Street, makes a cute picture as she takes refuge from the heat during the extra hot summer by dunking herself in a bucket of cool water.

A bumper grape harvest took place this season and an example of the luscious fruit gathered is shown by Kath and Frank Chitty, at whose vineyard the picture was taken, and Mrs Marie Donaldson. The bunches weighed 21b 60z, 21b and 1½ lb.

Formerly of Stanley Road, and now of Brunswick, Wanganui, is the Lester Green family, and from them comes this pic of Lester, jnr., taken when he was lucky enough to visit Snow White herself backstage at Wanganui recently.
