Comings and Goings

Sharon Olsen, daughter of Mr and Mrs E. N. Olsen, Tolaga Bay, sailed from Auckland recently for England. A nurse up at Cook, Sharon recently passed her finals, is off on a working holiday and expects to be away about two years.

Jim Thomson, son of Mr and Mrs J. Thomson, Fitzherbert Street, left for Australia recently. Jim will stay in Sydney where he will further his experience in saddle making and leather work before returning home.

Bob Lewis, 186 Cobden Street, has left his position with the Ministry of Works and gone to Australia. Bob, a keen underwater man, expects to be away about two years and hopes to do some professional skindiving around the Australian coasts.

Ian McLeay has come up from Wellington to take up his position as sub-manager of the New Zealand Shipping Co., and he is pictured with his wife Lanny and daughters Ann, Lynda and Reni.

Tony Smythe was recently transferred to the Napier branch of Burroughs Ltd., and will shortly be joined by his wife Wendy, who has been public health nursing in the Gisborne district for the past two years, and their 3½-year-old son Andrew.

Judith Ann Gowland, daughter of Mr and Mrs J. A. Gowland, Manutuke, has joined the exodus of overseas trippers. She is going on a two year working holiday in England and the Continent.
