Lytton High Sports

Despite the extreme heat many new records were set at the Lytton High athletic sports on March 1. Some keen contests eventuated and many close finishes took place.

Stephen Goldsbury and Paul Dixon clear the last hurdle together in the intermediate 110 yards hurdles championship which Dixon went on to win by the barest of margins.

Laurence Normanton won the senior hurdles championship.

Kerry Edwards takes the senior girls' 440 yards championship.

Junior boys 440 went to Mark Barnes.

Richard Stubbings wins the intermediate 440. He also set a new record of 24.4s for the intermediate 220 yards championship.

Teddy Normanton takes the senior 440 in a punishing, finish. He also won the 100yds champ.

John Russell won the senior high jump.

Anne Bignell winning the junior girls' 110 yards. She also set a new record of 11.9s in her heat of the event, and a new record of 15ft 5in in the junior girls' long jump.

Kerry Edwards set a record of 27.7s for the senior girls' 220.

×

John Phin wins the senior 880 from Alastair Glengarry and Ron Ovenden. Phin also set a new record of 4m 47s for the senior boys' mile.
