Dredge Aground

The Westminster Dredging Company was unfortunate in having the dredge Louise F break her tow rope and run aground at Waikanae beach during operations on the night of May 30.

The dredge is being used as a barge in the harbour development scheme.

A high tide at the time of the grounding has given the tugs which are trying to refloat the dredge no leeway.

At the time of going to press, efforts were still being made to refloat the dredge.
