Nothing Broken

Not a pane of glass was broken when this glasshouse belonging to Bart Zwart at Ormond was shifted recently.

To make the shift easy the whole glasshouse is built on rails which are twice the length of the house itself.

Each year the glasshouse will be shifted to the other end of the rails enabling the soil to be cultivated in the open thus keeping the ground as healthy as possible.

Winches operated by hand were used for this "first-ever" moving of the glasshouse, and everything went smoothly.
