The old coaching days will be recalled by those who used that mode of travel, when looking at this picture of Puatai which is some seven miles south of Tolaga Bay on the old coach road.

Three members of the Pioneer Battalion who served in the First World War were present at the Anzac Day parade in Tolaga Bay. They are Te Wiri Wiri, K. Wharehinga and M. Maitai.
