Youngsters On The Move

Shown in front of the hostel, the children are ready and packed for the return journey after making a concentrated study of Gisborne and its environs.

Twenty-two visitors were billeted with the Gisborne hosts and activities included a trip to Waihirere on Saturday and a church parade at the Te Hapara Presbyterian Church, Kowhai Street, on Sunday.

Visitors and hosts are shown together in this pic from Cubmaster Mullings.

That the Youth Hostel in Gisborne is of advantage to people of all age groups was proved recently when this group of Form 1 and 11 children from the Porangahau School in Hawkes Bay paid a four-day educational visit to the city.

Classes from the Central School also paid working visits to various businesses in the city recently and "Photo News" was host to these five children who studied the problems of those rushing to meet deadlines and printing schedules.

Paying each other alternate visits each year, the Kauri Cub Pack of Hastings paid its visit to the Te Hapara Air Cubs recently, arriving on the Saturday morning and leaving on the Sunday afternoon.
