The first public administration course to be held in Gisborne was conducted by the New Zealand Institute of Public Administration Lasting three days, the course was opened by the Mayor, Mr H. H. Barker. From left are Mr Barker, Mr A. J. Beck (principal organiser of the course), Mr G. P. Rabey (M.O.W. Wellington) and Mr N. Currie (local representative of the State Services committee).

Prizewinners in the Saturday morning soccer competitions for school-boys were presented with their trophies at a function held in the Lytton High School Hall. The team captains are, from left, Chris Ovenden (Trojans), Barry King (Central School A), Barry Johnstone (in front, Sputniks), Lindsay Jones (standing in for Reece Harrison, capt High School White) Alistair McDonald (Rangers) and Richard Fletcher (Lytton High A).

Having every reason to be proud are these basketball teams from the Manutuke School. The C 1 team (left) won the Bowie and Miller Cups, and the C 3 teams (right) were runners-up in the Junior Second Section. The C 1 team is, from left (at back), Miss D. Mitchell (coach), T.
