Further Aid For I.H.C. Fund

The L.D.S. Church presented a film evening in their chapel in Stout Street on Labour Monday evening to help raise funds for the I.H.C. Hostel fund.

Admission was free and donations were taken at the door.

Although the attendance was not that expected, due to other attractions, patrons gave generously and the sum of £34 was donated to the fund.

"This sum is enough to furnish one single bedroom in the hostel" stated Mr Ian Smith, president of the Gisborne-East Coast Branch of the Intellectually Handicapped Children's committee, on thanking the Elders for the gift.
