The Rains Came

A torrential 12-hour downpour on Sunday 11th October caused widespread surface flooding in the city and district, blocking streets and forcing the closing of the airport.

The storm reached its intensity in the latter part of the morning and winds of up to 60 miles an hour were recorded, the total rainfall for the day being 1.88 in.
