Essay Competition
The annual essay competition on Captain Cook conducted by the Gisborne Business and Professional Women's Club drew nine entries this year.
Although limited to the third form, the standard was extremely high.
Mrs W. H. Way presented the prizes to Lorraine Poole and Margaret Wilcox who were 1st and 2nd respectively.
With Miss G. Clifford-Jones (president) and Miss N. Hill and Mr W. H. Way (two of the judges) are Murray Carr and Eric Davies.
Other entrants are, from left, Megan Edwards, Jane McLachlan, Janet MacDiarmid, Donna Fergus son and Janis Hamon.
