Miss Kura Beale, well known throughout the Waiapu County as a worker for the community, has left for her new home in the Bay of Islands where she can indulge in her favourite sport of big game fishing.
At a recent meeting of the Waiapu Hospital Board, Miss Beale, who has been an active member for 23 years, was farewelled. Those present were, from left, back row: A. W. Dever (chairman), F. Tokomaru Bay is still good pig country, and Mr Phil Renner, headmaster of the District High School, shot these two beauties within a mile of his school.
Mrs J. Hill, now of Wanganui, whose late husband was a meat inspector when the freezing works were established in Hicks Bay, returned to the coast for a visit recently.
