Ilminster Steeplechase

The Ilminster Intermediate School recently held its first steeplechase, over courses in the outer Kaiti area.

Run over two courses, senior and junior, the races drew 90% of the boy pupils of the school, or a total number of 235.

The senior race was run over a distance of two-and-a-half miles, the winner returning a time of 15min 40.3sec, and the junior, over one-and-a-half miles, with a fastest time of l6min 28.6sec.

The school intends holding the steeplechase annually.
