G. L. B. Competition

Companies of the Gisborne Battalion of the Girls' Life Brigade recently took part in the third annual inter-company competitions in the Intermediate School hall.

Watched by a large group of spectators, the companies performed drill movements, figure marching, and Scottish country dancing.

The overall winner was the 1st Gisborne Company (St. Andrew's Presbyterian), from the 6th Gisborne (Town Baptist), and the 8th Gisborne (Wesley Methodist).


The drill judge, Mr O. Crafts, inspecting the 4th Gisborne Company. With him is Mrs R. C. Stichbury, captain of the company, and commandant of the Gisborne Battalion.


Judging the competitors was Mr J. Douglas, of the Boys' Brigade.
