Busy Boy Scouts

In recent weeks, members of two Gisborne Boy Scout troops have been busy doing voluntary work for the benefit of community and city.

The Kaiti Sea Scout troop undertook the task of clearing the Kaiti Hill walking track, which had become completely over-grown. With a grand turnout, they achieved their aim in one day.

The Te Hapara Air Scouts decided to clean, and in many cases, uncover, the 190 fire hydrants in their district of Elgin. Their efforts proved worthy when the Fire Brigade required the use of one less than a day later.
